I was finally attending a workshop curated and run by the divine woman they call Bliss (because that’s her name!), the tall blonde with a smooth voice and the sometimes nervous smile! Yay! I have, for as long as I have been on this blogging journey wanted to work with Tara. There were opportunities but they were never ripe, something always got in the way, it just wasn’t the right time and until now, I had no idea why.
Enter “So You Wanna be an Author?” Tara’s full day workshop on how to write a book, yes you heard correctly a BOOK! (I am excited, can you tell?)
An early morning drive to the Sunshine Coast was in order, I left even earlier so I had a little time to spend in the ocean, wandering, grounding and wishing I hadn’t spent time doing my hair so I could dive right in! The water was beyond beautiful, clear, clean and strangely warm for the last day of autumn, it set the scene for an incredible day filled with wonder, awe and most beautifully, EASE.
Arriving at the house, Tara greeted me with a warm hug and I nervously carried on about how Ah-mazing the water at the beach was this morning (because it was!) but I was seriously nervous. Why was I nervous? Well that would be because I had no freakin’ idea what the hell I was going to write about. The limiting belief that I could never write a book! How would I fill the pages? What did I have to say? Oh my darling inner dialogue!
If you find yourself asking yourself (and your friends) “Am I really a writer? Am I really an artist?” Chances are, you are. The counterfeit innovator is wildly self confident. The real one is scared to death.

So with Steven’s though in mind, I took a seat and prepared to let everyone know that I had absolutely no idea what I was going to write about and that actually, I was totally OK with that. (I swear I was…)
With Tara’s method and general encouragement, within a few hours I had written my dedication, acknowledgements (holy wow there were lots of tears!), started collate my chapters; there may have even been the appearance of a sneaky title!! This course is amazingly good stuff! We were completely spoilt by Tara’s generosity; there was yummy food, tea, thoughtful gifts but most of all by the completely transparent process behind the writing of HIGH: A Party Girls Guide to Peace.
Tara truly left no stone unturned, no resource un-divulged and was incredibly open at question time. If you want to be an author, this divine being has got you totally covered. (Word on the street has it that there are some exciting changes to the format of this course, I promise to keep you posted!)
Stay tuned for more book news, she is definitely on her way…
Much love, em x
