Love, Sisterhood & Delicious Food | It Must be Soul Sister Circle

Soul Sister Circle

Flickering lights from the multiple candle arbours, the familiar smell of Lemon Canary Seeker burns in the air and the beautiful Bec giving hugs at the door; it must be Soul Sister Circle.

Front and centre with a table filled with one darling friend and five beautiful strangers (well to start with, there is something about these gorgeous events that makes you all friends within 5 minutes) delicious food, phenomenal styling and divine little gifts, the room was filled with joy and excitement.

This night marked the first evening speaker event and man, it was set to deliver. The gorgeous authors of Spirited, Rachel MacDonald & Tara Bliss rocked the candle lit, flower filled stage to share their message of Sisterhood, connection and living your soul purpose taking small steps to live and reach for your beautiful life.

I completely adore and respect these girls. Rach has been an ever accessible mentor in the form of Assistant Coach for the Beautiful You Coaching Academy and the headmistress of her divine course Bright Eyed Blog Hearted (I hear there is another round of the course coming up, promise I will keep you posted). Tara so often reaches into my mind and blogs about it (not actually my mind, but it feels like it, sometimes I feel like she has wiretapped my brain) we have shared emails and hugs and laughs. One might say I was a little excited to finally hear them speak together!

Barefoot (and in Rach’s case, pregnant) the girls took the stage, sat on a vintage couch and started with a beautiful short & sweet Kundalini meditation. Hand on heart, guyan mudra in place and turned awareness to the third eye, the room proceeded to focus on holding and releasing the breath, bringing in stillness, and as the medi came to an end welcoming in the divine spirit of Jess Ainscough, a special part of the Sisterhood. Beautiful, settled, perfection.

Rach spoke of their love story, Tara admitted it all started on Twitter and little giggles came from the crowd. These babes are the real deal, you can see the love between them but more than that you can feel it, it is palpable. The girls have a hashtag #samebrain, have created magic together and in their own words created a deep, light and joyful friendship through a simple act of courage. The key message is reach out, take people you adore and respect in your community down off the pedestal and connect, put yourself out there; you never know what you may create.

The girls discussed being open when all you want to do is remain closed and the idea of celebration instead of comparison. The importance of rising together, celebrating each other’s victories, knowing that your own is just around the corner. How beautiful is that!? It is a concept I have been working hard on, that green eyed monster can come in fast and strong, I try now to recognise her and then let her be on her way. The amazing things my Soul Sisters do makes me so proud to be a part of their journey and hopefully they feel the same way about me.

Listening to both Rach & Tara talking about their spiritual practice and spirited living really resonated with me, implementing joyfulness, devotion, connection & conscious choice into my life has been really important and is still a work in progress, it shifts and changes, I experiment, I drop things and I fall deeper down the rabbit hole. I love it and I love that I know I am not the only one.

Now to the biggie, the one so many of us (myself included) are impacted by, “What the hell is my purpose in life?” The ever elusive Soul Purpose! I loved the way T & R spoke of hints, clues and momentum, that it truly is the small steps. Tara spoke of not waiting for all of your ducks to be in a row, that taking the first step with the first duck can be truly magical and can be the perfect magnet for bringing in more of what you truly want.

I love the idea that while you wait that it is important to remember to bring a sense of importance, reverence and love to everything you do and that in itself will lead you exactly where you need to go! Yes, yes, yes!

To finish up, just before question time four questions were posed that I would love to put to you if you are struggling a little with your soul purpose.

How do you want other people to feel?

How can you do that today on a small scale?

In this lifetime, what impact do you want to have on the world?

What do you need to let go of to make that happen

(If you are feeling brave, I would love to hear your answers below)

What an evening, peppered with love, laughter, joy and some new soul sisters. Before arriving we were asked to set an intention and trust that we would be seated exactly where we needed to be. I know this was certainly the case for me; I came home feeling uplifted, knowing this is exactly where I am meant to be at this moment and that continuing step by step is the most potent thing I can do.

Much love, em x

How do you want other people to feel?
I want people to fell like it’s safe for them to stand up and shine. Like there is no need to compete or compare. I want people to know how goddamn AH-mazing they are with out having to achieve, achieve, achieve. I want them to feel safe being themselves.

How can you do that today on a small scale?
    Kindness, listening and support.

In this lifetime, what impact do you want to have on the world?
I want to see this spirited movement continue to bloom, grow and I would like to be privileged enough to play a significant part in that.

What do you need to let go of to make that happen?
I continue to revise the stories in my mind: Are you true? Do you serve this journey? Can you serve others?

Love your work, Em. Keep it up sister. XX

Oh Emma, I’m a tad envious of this special soul sister circle and not having been there. You so beautifully set the scene in this post and – just from your little description in your sidebar – I feel that we should have connected before now! Book hoarders, Beautiful You coaches and coffee lovers unite!
